Nominations for 'Women Who Make a Difference' Due Monday

Monday is the deadline to nominate someone for the township's 2012 "Women Who Make a Difference" awards program.

The deadline to nominate a woman to be included among the honorees in the township's annual "Women Who Make a Difference" awards program is Monday.

Nominations must be submitted to the township Clerk's Office, located in the municipal building, by 5 p.m. on Monday.

The ceremony will be held at the beginning of Council's March 26 meeting, which is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.

Nomination forms, which must be submitted along with an essay detailing the nominee's personal and professional accomplishments, good deeds, and community contributions, are available here on the township's official website.

In order to be eligible, an individual must be an exemplary citizen who has demonstrated significant contributions in the areas of community service (employment history not included) and must currently reside or work in Gloucester Township.

Reference letters and other documentation—certificates of merit, newspaper articles, etc.—may be included with the submission application, which will be reviewed by a three-person panel appointed by Mayor David Mayer.

Past honorees are not eligible.

This year's program will mark the ninth consecutive year Council has hosted the "Women Who Make a Difference" program during a March meeting. March is Women's History Month.

Past recipients include Councilwomen Michelle Gentek and Tracey Trotto and former councilwoman Crystal Evans.
