Patch Sincerely Regrets: Corrections and Clarifications

A summary of corrections and clarifications in the Gloucester Township Patch.

But as always, reporting the news is a human endeavor. Mistakes do happen. When they do, we acknowledge them publicly and correct them quickly and clearly. We take transparency seriously. We're committed to accuracy, to acknowledging our mistakes, and to fixing them as quickly as possible.

Once fixed, an error will be clearly explained in an editor's note in italics at either the top or bottom of the story.

Correction: When initially published Sunday, June 10, at 10 a.m., this article incorrectly indicated each senior in the three Black Horse Pike Regional School District schools would receive eight tickets for Thursday's graduation ceremonies. Highland students will receive eight, Timber Creek students six and Triton students five. GloucesterTownship.Patch.com regrets the error.

Correction: When initially published at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 19, the article Camco 4-H to Bring Spooky to Blackwood incorrectly indicated the pumpkin patch event would take place on Sunday, Oct. 23. The event took place on Saturday, Oct. 22. Patch regrets the error and sincerely apologizes for an inconvenience this error may have caused our readers.

Clarification: When initially published at 6:55 p.m. Aug. 9, Girl Approached in Apparent Luring Attempt on Black Horse Pike indicated the apparent luring attempt occurred around 9:20 p.m. Monday. The incident occurred around noon. Police were summoned to take a report of the incident at 9:26 p.m. The information contained below has been adjusted for accuracy.

Clarification: When initially published at 2:15 p.m. June 8, Police Switch Notification Service Providers indicated Nixle users would automatically be transitioned to Global Connect. Nixle users must register with Global Connect.

Correction: When initially published at 3 p.m. May 12, School Districts Agree to Cut $300K from Tax Levies incorrectly reported the reduction in the Gloucester Township Public Schools tax bill to the average township homeowner as a result of the tentatively approved $300,000 tax levy cut. The reduction would be less than $10, not the nearly $30 that was reported. Patch regrets the error. 

Correction: When initially published at 6 a.m., April 8, Council to Vote on Fire Inspection Fee Hike contained an error regarding the calculation of proposed fire inspection fees. The proposed fees would be based on the total square footage of buildings' floor space. For example, the fee for a one-story, 200,000-square-foot building would be based on a total of 200,000 square feet, while the fee for a two-story building with a 200,000-square-foot footprint would be based on a total of 400,000 square feet. Patch regrets the error.

Correction: When initially published at 6 a.m. March 11, the article "Police: Graffiti Artist Caught" indicated Osman Lopez-Rodriguez Jr. is 19 years old. He is 20.

Correction: , which went live at 2 p.m. Feb. 3, incorrectly stated that the Township Council would host a public meeting on Feb. 7. The council will not host a public meeting until Feb. 14. GloucesterTownship.Patch.com regrets the error.

Correction: , which was published the morning of Feb. 18, initially indicated Rich Annacone was seeking a full three-year term on the Erial fire district's board of commissioners. Annacone was seeking to complete the final two years of an unexpired term. George Brown was running for the full term. Patch regrets the error.

Correction: , which was published late on Feb. 19, initially indicated Rich Annacone won a full three-year term on the Erial fire district's board of commissioners. Annacone won a two-year term. George Brown won the three-year term. Patch regrets the error.
