Police on Wednesday announced a host of construction projects that will impact traffic in the township—one of which began today.

New drainage lines will be installed in the area of Cherrywood Drive and Winding Way, as well as side courts in the area, over the next several months, police said.

That project began today and is expected to be completed in December.

Construction will take place in the Blackwood neighborhood, weather-permitting, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Two separate roadway improvement projects are slated to begin on Monday, Sept. 12—one a short-term project, the other a long-term project.

Sicklerville Road will be repaved between Jarvis Road and Route 42. The project is expected to run through Friday, Sept. 16, and will be undertaken between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

A partial road closure will be in place during the Sicklerville Road project. Traffic moving from Cross Keys Road to Route 42 will continue as usual with a lane shift as needed. Traffic coming from Route 42 will be detoured as follows: east on Hickstown Road to Erial Road, south to Jarvis Road to Sicklerville Road.

The detour, which will begin at 6 a.m. each day, will be directed by officers stationed at the closure points as well as at Garwood Road and Stonebridge Drive.

Also slated to begin on Sept. 12 are a host of paving projects on lesser-traveled roads the township's Glendora, Somerdale and Erial sections.

The following roads will be repaved: Thorny Lane, Fernwood Drive and Lake Avenue in Glendora, Fenwick Drive and Wyngate Road in Somerdale, and Belleview Avenue in Erial. All of these roadways will remain open during the construction, which is expected to conclude in December.
