Sicklerville Gym's Thanksgiving 5K to Benefit Homeless

Slim Chicks' fourth annual Turkey Trot will benefit The Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless.

Looking to get an early jump on keeping off those extra pounds the holiday season inevitably seems to bring us all?

A Sicklerville gym could help you do just that, while giving you a way to give back to those in need.

Slim Chicks Fitness will host its fourth annual Turkey Trot 5K Thanksgiving Day (Thursday) at Gloucester Township Community Park.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The registration fee is $25 per person, and additional donations are being sought.

All proceeds from the 5K run/walk will benefit The Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless, according to Slim Chicks owner Stevie Matteo.

Pre-registration is not required. For more information about the Turkey Trot, call 856-228-9200 or visit the Slim Chicks website, where you can find registration forms and more.

The top male and female finishers will receive gift certificates for an hour-long massage and more gifts. Also, someone will win a turkey dinner, participants can earn T-shirts, and runners and walkers who grab a kettlebell during their second lap will be entered for the chance to win a kettlebell.

Based in Elizabeth, The Elizabeth Coalition was founded in 1981 as an advocate for New Jersey's homeless.
