Slight Increase in Township's Population
Camden County also only experienced a moderate gain in people since the 2000 Census.
The population here increased only slightly between 2000 and 2010, according to data released today by the U.S. Census Bureau.
The township was home to 64,634 people in 2010, up 284 from the 64,350 who lived here in 2000, according to the Census bureau.
Of the 64,634 people, 48,933, or 75 percent, are white. There were 10,464 black residents (16.2 percent) and 3,650 Hispanic residents (5.6) in the township in 2010.

Nearly 76 percent (75.7) of the township's residents as of 2010 are old enough to vote (18 years old or older). Of voting-age people, the overwhelming majority are white (38,332).
Its 64,634 residents made Gloucester Township the 19th largest municipality in New Jersey in 2010, dropping one spot from 2000.

Camden County was home to 513,657 residents in 2010, making it the eighth most populous county in New Jersey. The county's population grew by up from 508,932 in 2000.
New Jersey was home to 8,414,350 people in 2010, accoridng to the Census Bureau, a 4.5-percent increase from the prior census count.
The state's five most populated towns in 2000 stayed in the same order in 2010, with Newark (277,140), Jersey City (247,597), Paterson (146,199), Elizabeth (124,969) and Edison Township (99,967) leading the way.
The Census data released today will help redraw federal, state and local legislative districts. New Jersey will lose one seat in the House under the counts.
