Stretch of Berlin-Cross Keys Road Reopens

Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority wraps up the first phase of its major project along the high-traffic roadway, but a nearby road is now closed.

Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority has completed its initial phase of sewer work on Berlin-Cross Keys Road, between Erial-New Brooklyn Road and Hickstown Turnerville Road, and reopened the roadway to all traffic.

Erial-New Brooklyn Road is now closed between Berlin-Cross Keys and Jarvis roads. Residents will have access to their homes off of Erial-New Brooklyn Road, according to Gloucester Township Police, but other motorists will have to use detours during construction.

The marked detour routes for the closure are:

  • Southbound: Erial-New Brooklyn Road to Jarvis Road to Williamstown Road to Berlin-Cross Keys Road
  • Northbound: Berlin-Cross Keys Road to Williamstown Road to Jarvis Road to Erial-New Brooklyn Road

This phase of the construction is expected to last until mid-December, police said.

Police remind motorists to plan accordingly for expected delays, and note that notice will be given if the roadway is opened earlier than anticipated.

The Erial-New Brooklyn closure is part of a long-term construction project that will impact traffic throughout certain areas of Gloucester Township for the next several months.

The Gloucester Township Police Department's Traffic Safety Bureau will send out traffic alerts to keep residents and motorists informed of changes and upcoming road closures. Gloucester Township Patch will publish these alerts as they are issued.
