Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs Gloucester Township

Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs Gloucester Township is having their grand opening Saturday March 8th at 11:00am @ Lake Mathilde in Gloucester Township. This is the first of its kind 28 week curriculum that is designed to teach kids about fishing and fill a void that may one day be filled by drugs if not for fishing. This is the first of its kind program in South Jersey. Its main sponsor is  New Jersey Fish and Wildlife. The program is free of charge and filled up quickly for this year. Kids will learn such things as fish id, biology, baits, cleaning, cooking, fishing techniques, scuba, wildlife, watersheds, pollution, say no to drugs, and much more. Kids will be going on field trips once a month free of charge. One trip is on the Bodacious party boat for a day of Delaware bay fishing. Mayor Mayer will be attending along with a representative from New Jersey Fish and Wildlife. All 22 students and their parents along with volunteer instructors will also be there, Shoprite along with DeBartolo's and dunkin doughnuts have donated food. Our facility is located at the end of Hazel Ave which runs off Jarvis rd. in the Sicklerville section of town.
