How to Donate in Southern New Jersey This Holiday Season

Where can you donate clothes, food and toys this holiday season.

It’s November, and homes all across southern New Jersey are being filled with the aroma of turkey cooking in the oven. All the trimmings are on their way, too, of course.

It’s also the time of year for giving thanks and helping those in need.

Here’s a look at some local clothing, food and toy drives currently underway in Camden, Gloucester and Burlington counties.

West Deptford is accepting clothing donations at its Public Works Yard. This is in conjunction with the Goodwill Industries of Southern New Jersey, and they also continue to accept televisions and other electronics.

The Eighth Legislative District Office in Burlington County is accepting donations of new clothing and non-perishable food. It is located at 176 Route 70, Suite 13 in Medford. They accept clothing and food Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Goodwill Industries of Southern New Jersey accepts clothing and coat donations at its various locations, including:

·      170 Grove Street in Haddonfield. Hours of operation: Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.;  Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Haddon Township, Gloucester Township and Collingswood are conducting their annual toy drives.

In Haddon Township, new, unwrapped toys, non-perishable food items and gift cards are being accepted at all township schools, the municipal building at 135 Haddon Avenue, the Annex Building at 10 Reeve Avenue and Westmont Fire Company No. 1.

Toys can be dropped off in Gloucester Township at the municipal building at 1261 Chews Landing Road in Laurel Springs. Distribution of the toys is scheduled to begin Dec. 9. All schools, businesses, residents and organizations are invited to donate new toys. For more information, call 856-228-4000, extension 3249.

Toys can be dropped off in Collingswood at the firehouse at 20 West Collings Avenue until Dec. 15. The drive is accepting toys for children between the ages of 1 and 15, as well as wrapping paper, tape and gift tags. Long and Foster’s in Cherry Hill is running its annual toy drive. Its office is located at 1415 Route 70 East, and toys can be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday-Friday until Dec. 12.

Those looking to donate food or money, or volunteer in a soup kitchen can do so through a multitude of sources, including:
