Clean Out Those Closets and Help an Animal

Want to help an animal charity but have no free time, can't foster, and have no money? It won't cost you a cent other than an empty garbage bag.

Want to help an animal charity but have no free time, can't foster, and have no money? I have an option that's easy and will help you donate to animals. It won't cost you a cent other than an empty garbage bag. Go to your nearest closet, grab the clothes you haven’t worn, the towels you never use, old sheets you were saving and insert them into the bag. Drive the bag to one of these easy-to-find locations and look for a blue clothing bin with NJ Aid for Animals on the front:

  • Halo House Boarding Kennel, 3241 Delsea Dr., Franklinville, NJ
  • Winslow Township Municipal Offices on Rt. 73
  • Winslow Township, Cedar Brook Plaza Post Office on Rt. 73
  • Mongan’s Service Station, 438 Williamstown Rd., Sicklerville
  • Burger Fence Company, 732 Main St., Barnsboro

Insert bag into the bin and you have just helped raise money for NJ Aid for Animals. Pat yourself on the back, it was painless, and you cleaned out your closet at the same time! Can't drive it there? Email us and we'll pick it up, or check our calendar and bring it to our next local event.

We've partnered with a fantastic recycling company that then pays us by the pound before hauling all those soft goods away and recycling them. It doesn’t matter if they're stained, or even a little torn—they can still use the fibers and NJ Aid for Animals still receives the revenue to help the animals.

This unique brand of partnership is called “affinity marketing.” You can trace the first instance of this marketing back to the 1970s between AAA and MasterCard. AAA, as a 501(c)3, brought their members to MasterCard who in turn offered them lower rates and unique privileges. It was a win-win situation for both companies.

In an effort to “think out of the box” (no pun intended), NJ Aid for Animals is always looking for innovative ways to drive consistent funding into our program services.

Earthrite Textile Recycling offered us a fantastic way to stay on the cutting edge with this affinity marketing program, with a community based approach.

If you own a business, especially if you're an animal lover, and you want to help bring one of these bins closer to your town let us know by emailing us. We want to make it easy for you to get behind a cause.

This is a powerful way to partner up locally with a non-profit without having to devote lots of on the clock time. Earthrite Textile keeps the bins tidy and emptied frequently, and they are insured for $1 million so it’s easier to think about putting one on your property.

The real value is they will bring new clients to your location, since NJ Aid for Animals will be sending them directly to your door. NJ Aid for Animals regularly promotes traffic to the bins by mentioning their location to our loyal supporters as well as listing your address on our website. You may find our friends become your loyal clients all through affinity marketing. If you’re interested, email us.

(Note: 90% of consumers want companies to tell them the ways they are supporting causes. Put another way: More than 278 million people in the U.S. want to know what a company is doing to benefit a cause. -  Cone Cause Evolution Study 2010)
