GT Residents Have Chance to Be 'Mrs. Holiday'
Women in Gloucester Township who have a keen eye for decorating and skills for holiday cooking can enter Taste of Home's "The Search for Mrs. Holiday" contest.
Women from Gloucester Township who love cooking and going all-out for holidays from New Years to Fourth of July have a chance to become an official holiday spokesperson.
Taste of Home magazine has unveiled a contest called “The Search for Mrs. Holiday.” This is a nationwide contest in which women can enter and show how their holiday traditions, from cooking recipes to decorations, makes them the perfect candidate to be “Mrs. Holiday.”
The role is so much more than just a title. The winner of “The Search for Mrs. Holiday” will earn a role as a spokesperson for Taste of Home and a $50,000 cash prize that comes with it. As the magazine's special holiday spokesperson, Mrs. Holiday will submit video cooking segments and write a blog, as well travel around the United States to make appearances at retail stores.

“Mrs. Holiday will be a new type of pageant queen,” Taste of Home editor-in-chief Catherine Cassidy said in a press release announcing the contest. “She’s an advocate, an ambassador and an inspiration who cooks for her family to bring everyone around the table at the holidays. She’s got memorable recipes combined with a celebration attitude.”
The contest is open to all women 18 years or older. Contestants may enter the contest by clicking on the Taste of Home Facebook page. There, entrants may submit a video of no more than two minutes, stating why they should be named Taste of Home's Mrs. Holiday. All contestants may also submit a homemade holiday recipe of no more than 200 words.

After entering the contest, Facebook followers will be able to vote for their favorite entries on the Taste of Home page. The voting will last through Sept. 7, at which point the top 100 vote-getters will advance to a final round. A panel of experts will choose an entry from the top 100 to be the official Mrs. Holiday.
