Patch/NJ Aid for Animals Pet of the Week: MaTilta

Just like our Aug. 12 featured pets, MaTilta is a cat rescued from a hoarder home.

New Jersey Aid for Animals board member Kelly Matthews, a Gloucester Township resident, submitted the following to Patch:

MaTilta is another hoarder house survivor (just like our Aug. 12 pets of the week). She earned her name due to the "tilt" you see her exhibit. Tilt, as we call her, is such a loving girl despite what she endured for years. Poor Tilt suffered and had an upper respiratory infection when we found her. As tiny as she is, the vet believes her to be almost 8 years old. Her unique head tilt is because she had a large polyp in her sinus cavity that was never treated or removed. It causes her no pain now that the polyp has been removed, and she is 100 percent healthy. Tilt will just always look as if she's cocking her head to the side, listening intently. Who wouldn't want a cat that is always paying attention to their every word?

She usually curls in her basket with Sparkles, another one of our survivors, during the day, catching a nap. Don't let that fool you, though; Tilt still likes to play and has plenty of perkiness left for any family. Litter box-trained and up-to-date on shots, as well as spayed, she will make a perfect cat for any home. Please give her the loving person to call her own that she deserves! Fill out an adoption application and we will contact you if MaTilta is a good fit for your home.
