Viewfinder: Mayor Helps ShopRite Bag Hunger

Mayor David Mayer bags groceries on ShopRite's Partners in Caring Day.

Mayor David Mayer, Councilwoman Michelle Gentek and members of both the Gloucester Township Police Department and Blackwood Fire Co. helped bag groceries at the Laurel Hill ShopRite Wednesday afternoon as part of the supermarket chain's "Partners in Caring" campaign.

Mayer later headed over to the Chews Landing Road ShopRite to bag more groceries.

Since Aug. 26, ShopRite stores across six states have been collecting donations from customers to help stock food banks' shelves.

Since the program began in 1999, ShopRite's "Partners in Caring" program has raised $29 million to fight hunger.
