Camden County Republicans are kicking off their 2012 election season by announcing three exceptional candidates for Freeholder:  Ian Gill, Eugene Lawrence and Jim Pearce.

Ian Gill’s entire professional and volunteering career has been spent in service to Camden County. He was a Clementon Councilman for five years. He has served as Chairman of Public Safety, Public Works and Public Service. And he has volunteered as a scout leader, fire safety educator and public safety leader. Ian is a Life Member of the Berlin IC Ambulance Association and has been an EMT for more than 30 years. He is currently employed by the Kennedy University Hospital EMS Division, assigned to serve the residents of Lindenwold, Clementon, Pine Hill and Pine Valley.

Eugene Lawrence served three terms on Gloucester Township Council. He has also worked on the Planning Board, Recreation Committee, Human Resource Commission, Redevelopment Committee and Economic Development Corp., B.S.A., as well as many other community organizations. Eugene is strong in the business community. He founded the Gloucester Township Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Camden County and Cherry Hill Regional Chambers of Commerce. As a lifelong resident of the Berlin area – and owner and operator of PerfectPools – Jim is uniquely qualified to provide advice and insight on many business and tax issues. His accomplishments include creating and implementing new revenue ideas to provide added value for residents and hold down property taxes.

Each of these candidates is running for Freeholder in response to their concerns that Camden County is in big trouble both fiscally and by reputation.

“Our Freeholders have put aside their oath to faithfully, impartially and justly perform all their duties instead of being honest and free from influence,” said Ian Gill.

Eugene Lawrence added “They have not been laser-focused on cutting expenses, finding new sources of revenues, lowering taxes and making sure our taxpayers and residents are satisfied with the services they receive.”

“Changes can be made right now that will improve Camden County. Why should our residents … our families, friends and neighbors have to put up with more years of inaction?” stated Jim Pearce. “Now is the time. Let’s begin the process of getting back to basics and write an accountable, fiscally responsible business plan for our county government. Together, we can do this, Camden County. Join the team that’s going to set the ship in the right direction.”
