Obituary: John R. Vincent

Mr. Vincent died Jan. 17. He was 65.

John R. Vincent, of Gloucester Township, NJ, passed away on Jan. 17, 2013, at the age of 65 years. Beloved husband of Carol (nee Palumbo). Devoted father of Andrew John Vincent, of Gloucester Township. Dear brother of Connie Byers (the late William) of West Deptford, NJ. Loving uncle of Susan, William, Jaclyn and John. Great uncle of Megan, Emily, Taylor and Billy. He is also survived by: two brothers-in-law, Rocco Biancaniello (Cheryl) of Hainesport, NJ, and Joseph Palumbo (Denise) of Sicklerville, NJ; and one sister-in-law Barbara Palumbo of Gloucester Township.

John was a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a 35-year career serving at numerous hospitals throughout South Jersey and Philadelphia. His most recent service was helping families at Caring Hospice Services of Mt. Laurel, NJ. He was a long-time member of the National Association of Social Workers, and Past President of their New Jersey Chapter. John enjoyed sailing, gardening, his “gourmet dinner club,”  and returning to his boyhood home of West Virginia every opportunity he had for a visit or vacation.

Viewings will be Monday, Jan. 21, 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday, Jan. 22, 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. at Earle Funeral Home, 122 W. Church St., Blackwood, NJ 08012. His Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Infant Jesus Parish/St. John Vianney Church, Deptford, NJ. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to the National Kidney Foundation, 111 S. Independence Mall East # 411, Philadelphia, PA 19106, or to Caring Hospice Services, 102 Gaither Dr., Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054. Condolences may be viewed/posted at the Earle Funeral Home website.
