Obituary: Marie L. LaPierre

A funeral service will be held at Earle Funeral Home's Blackwood location Friday morning.

The following obituary was submitted to Patch by Earle Funeral Home:

Marie L. LaPierre (nee Zane), a lifelong resident of Blackwood, died on May 21, 2012 at the age of 89 years. Mrs. LaPierre was a longtime member of the Blackwood United Methodist Church, where she formerly served as Treasurer and Membership Secretary. She was also an active member of the New Jersey State Grange, Camden County Pomona Grange, and the Blackwood Grange # 90, where she served in several capacities, including Secretary. She was a member and Past President of the Sixty-Plus Club, and worked as an Election Poll Worker for many years in Gloucester Township. She enjoyed playing Bridge and Pinochle with many of her friends and neighbors.

Devoted wife for 65 years to Frank J. “Jack” LaPierre, Jr. who predeceased her in February of this year. Beloved mother of Paul D. LaPierre (Anita) of Washington Township, NJ, and Lois LaPierre Lang (Jeff) of Lindenwold, NJ. Loving grandmother of Adam LaPierre, Alexis Clendenin, Jennifer Nerney, Jason Timko, Geoffrey Lang, and Douglass Lang. Proud great grandmother of Jackson Clendenin, Ella Clendenin, Samantha Nerney, and Madeline Nerney. Loving aunt of Gene LaPierre of Turnersville, NJ.

Viewings will be Thursday, May 24, 5 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, May 25, 10 to 11 a.m. at Earle Funeral Home, 122 W. Church St., Blackwood. Her funeral service will follow on Friday at 11:00 a.m., also at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Bethel Cemetery, Hurffville, NJ.
