Obituary: Peter A. Urbano Sr.

Mr. Urbano, who owned and operated Urbano Electric, died Friday. He was 54 years old.

Earle Funeral Home submitted the following obituary to Gloucester Township Patch:

Peter A. Urbano Sr., of Gloucester Township, NJ, passed away on Dec. 7, 2012, at the age of 54 years. Devoted husband of Jane Urbano (nee Troncone) whom he married on April 29, 1978. Dear son of Anna R. (nee Balsama) and Amedio N. Urbano, of Gloucester Township. Beloved father of Christine Marie Urbano of Delaware, Peter A. Urbano Jr. of Mantua, NJ, Stephen M. Urbano (daughter-in-law Lindsey) of Audubon, NJ, and Nicholas A. Urbano of Gloucester Township. Loving brother of Bonnie Williames (brother-in-law Don) of Marco Island, FL. Proud grandfather of Dominic Zuck and Alexander Urbano. Pete is also survived by his mother-in-law, Johannah Troncone, of Collingswood, NJ; as well as numerous cousins, especially Rich Balsama who was more like a brother than a cousin.

Mr. Urbano owned and operated Urbano Electric, which he founded in 1985, and now includes his two sons Peter Jr. and Stephen, who have joined the business. He enjoyed boating, fishing, traveling to the Caribbean with his wife and playing roulette at Bally’s (numbers 11 and 29). His favorite thing was spending time at his Mystic Island Shore house with his wife and family.

Viewings will be Tuesday, Dec. 11, 6 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, Dec. 12, 9:15 to 10:15 a.m., at Earle Funeral Home, 122 W. Church St., Blackwood, NJ. His funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Hope Parish/St. Agnes Church, 701 Little Gloucester Rd., Blackwood. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to either Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr., Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053, or to the “Peter A. Urbano, Sr. Scholarship Fund,” which will be established to help future electricians at the Camden County Technical Schools-Pennsauken Campus, and can be mailed c/o the funeral home, payable to the fund.
