Walter S. Johnston of Turnersville, NJ, and formerly of Blackwood, NJ, passed away on Oct. 31, 2012, at the age of 86 years. Husband of Joanne Johnston and of the late Louise. He is survived by one son, Bud Rossi (Nancy), of Turnersville, NJ; one daughter, Dolores Rossi (Len), of Mullica Hill, NJ; two grandsons, Michael Rossi (Chris) and Marc Rossi (Joelle), both of Washington Township; great grandchildren Kristina, Dominic, JD, Trevor, Dylan, and Tanner; nephew Buddy Johnston (Beverly), of Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Johnston was a proud U.S. Navy World War II veteran. He was a longtime employee of Camden County, serving as a supervisor at Lakeland. Prior to that, he was an over-the-road truck driver, and a Teamster. Walt enjoyed the outdoors, travelling, and spending time with his beloved family.

Viewing will be Wednesday, Nov. 7, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Earle Funeral Home, 122 W. Church St., Blackwood, NJ. His funeral Mass will follow at noon at Saints Peter and Paul Church, Turnersville. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to the Camden County 4H, 1301 Park Blvd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08002.
