my taxes did not go down?

I dont understand, I keep seeing all these ads and keep getting things in the mail for all these People running for office, Governor, Senator, Mayor, Town Council. They ALL say that our Taxes have either been held or reduced. I must be missing something, my Taxes keep going UP every years? Someone is telling Lies.
