SCAM ALERT: Fire Sprinkler Legislation

I don't know if you saw the article in Patch that reported that the NJ Assembly passed  legislation that would require fire sprinkler systems in all new home builds. Of note is this PR verbiage at the end: "The New Jersey Fire Sprinkler Advisory Board (NJFSAB) is a cooperative partnership advocating installation and proper care of fire sprinkler systems as a highly effective means of helping save lives and property...the Board is comprised of local leaders, contractors, businesses and unionized personnel representing fire sprinkler construction, production, distribution and installation." Can anyone fail to understand why the NJFSAB thinks that legislation forcing you to install a fire sprinkler system in your new home should be mandatory?
Allow me to inform the NJFSAB that whomever they paid to write their "About NJFSAB:" press release was overpaid. It should have mentioned that "it's for the children" and thus anyone objecting to such humanitarian legislation could be put in the same class as gun owners, or worse. We've been here before and Governor Christie allowed such legislative overreach to expire unsigned; hopefully, cooler heads will prevail again.
Next up: legislation requiring all new home builds to include electric car charging stations...After all, it's for the children.
