Star Testing and Common Core

Can someone tell me more about the Star testing our children take as per common core standards, how often it is taken and why the results are an average of all the Star tests put together and not based on individual grade? I am kind of tired of getting a run around from the district and how they feel these tests help determine our children's growths, strengths, weaknesses, paves the way to happy endings, kitties, puppy dogs, shiny rainbows and brighter futures?.....because I am not feeling it, and about to keep my kids home every time these tests are taken.

I gotta tell you, this Star testing is ridiculous. My son came home with the results in his report card, according to the results my son is dumb as a stump, but yet his report card was As, Bs n a C. Which do I believe?

If I may suggest that you both contact Jeff Christo at (856) 227-1400, X2406. He would be the one who can directly answer all of your questions regarding the Star testing and how to interpret it. The curriculum night they held was very informative. It's much better for you and your kids than to get all different parents opinions on this.
