$1.5 Million Bail Set in Fatal Pine Hill Stabbing

Stefan Curry Beckett reportedly targeted his estranged wife's boyfriend and stabbed Michael Cogan to death Monday.

The Philadelphia man accused of stabbing and killing his estranged wife's boyfriend was ordered held Tuesday on $1.5 million bail.

Stefan Curry Beckett, 29, of Philadelphia allegedly targeted Michael Cogan, 26, in the attack. Investigators say Curry Beckett broke into Cogan's apartment through a balcony sliding door, assaulted him and fatally stabbed him early Monday morning.

Cogan lived in the 2600 building of the Greens at Pine Hill, about a mile down Blackwood Clementon Road from Gloucester Township's border.

This is not the first time Curry Beckett assaulted Cogan, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. He also cut Cogan under the chin during an argument in April, the newspaper reports. Curry Beckett has an August court date on pending charges from that alleged assault.

This time, authorities says, Curry Beckett's attacks turned deadly.

Curry Beckett appeared in Superior Court in Camden Tuesday for arraignment on murder and felony murder charges.
