A Bike Ride to D.C. Commemorates National Police Week

A team of Gloucester Township officers honor those who have died in the line of duty.

A team of Gloucester Township police officers participated in a three-day bicycle ride to Washington, D.C. over the weekend to mark the beginning of National Police Week.

The local team were part of more than 1,700 police officers who road more than 300 miles to D.C.

The theme was "We ride for those who died." Several bikers displayed photos of officers slain in the line of duty, including Sean Collier, a university police officer allegedly slain by the Boston Marathon bombing suspects.
