Alleged Luring at Condo Leads to 62-Year-Old's Arrest

Gloucester Township Police arrested William Lacy at his home Sunday.

A Gloucester Township man was arrested and charged with attempted luring after trying to get two girls, ages 6 and 7, to come into his Huntington Mews condo Sunday, Gloucester Township Police said.

William Lacy, 62, called over to the girls, who were playing in a group near his home, and offered the 6-year-old a dollar if she would come inside, police said.

When the girl refused, Lacy began talking with the 7-year-old, police said, and tried to grab her by the wrist, but the 7-year-old pulled away and ran off.

The older girl informed her mother of what happened, police said, which led to Lacy's arrest without incident.

Police charged Lacy, who has no prior criminal convictions and is not on the sex offender list, according to state records, with two counts of second-degree luring, and he was taken to the Camden County Jail in default of $125,000 bail.
