Blackwood Lake Crash Victim's Condition Upgraded

The woman was thrown from a pickup truck when it rolled over Thursday afternoon on West Church Street.

The condition of a woman hospitalized following a one-vehicle crash near Blackwood Lake Thursday afternoon has been upgraded, police said this afternoon.

Jennifer Ledrew, 31, of Blackwood, is now listed in severe but stable condition, according to Gloucester Township Police Capt. Anthony Minosse. She was flown to Cooper University Hospital, in Camden, following the crash.

She was listed in critical but stable condition late Wednesday night, police said.

Ledrew was ejected from a Chevrolet pickup truck when it crashed on West Church Street at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

The pickup's driver, identified by police as 41-year-old Blackwood resident Joseph Walsh, lost control of the truck while heading east from Deptford Township into Gloucester Township, Minosse said. The truck left the roadway and rolled over.

Walsh was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel.

Ledrew was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to investigators.

The accident remains under investigation by the Gloucester Township Police Serious Accident Investigation Team.

No charges had been filed or tickets issued as of 1 p.m. today.

Police closed West Church Street west of the Black Horse Pike and surrounding roadways for about four hours while investigating the crash Thursday.
