Budgets Approved in Twp. Fire Districts

Four of the township's six districts reported results.

Correction: This article, which was published late on Feb. 19, initially indicated Rich Annacone won a full three-year term on the Erial fire district's board of commissioners. Annacone won a two-year term. George Brown won the three-year term. Patch regrets the error.

Township voters on Saturday approved fire-district budgets in Chews Landing, Erial, Glendora and Lambs Terrace, according to unofficial election results. 

There were contested commission races in Blackwood, Chews Landing, Erial and Lambs Terrace.

The results for Blackwood and Blenheim were unavailable Saturday night. 

In , voters approved a tax levy of $1,632,130 to support a total budget of $1,889,187. The vote was 227-126 in favor of the budget.

Nicholas J. Ritz defeated incumbent Craig R. Watkins, 314-119, for a three-year term on the board of commissioners.

In Erial, the incumbent slate of Rich Annacone (290 votes), George Brown (293), Joe Chew (271)  and Jim Kibelstis (267) defeated the slate of Joseph Bannon (181), Derek Grier (156), Eric Lawrence (149) and Robbie L. Traylor Sr. (170).

Brown won a full three-year term. Annacone and Chew will complete the final two years of two unexpired terms. Kibelstis won a one-year term.

Erial district voters approved a tax levy of $1,183,143 to support a total budget of $1,235,199. The vote was 254-158 in favor of the budget. 

 voters approved a tax levy of $280,800 to support a total budget of $286,400. Howard Brooks, who ran unopposed, won a commission seat. 

In , incumbent Joseph DiGrazio defeated challenger James Bonnette Sr. for a three-year term, 162-38.

District voters approved a tax levy of $1,348,434 to support a total budget of $1,366,397. The vote was 136-65 in favor of the budget.
