Camden County Woman Sentenced to 10 Years on Multiple Child Sex Charges

Rachel L. Baker, 23, of Winslow Township, previously pleaded guilty to having sex with a 13-year-old, and photographing that 13-year-old in a sexual act with an 8-year-old girl.

A Winslow Township woman was sentenced to 10 years in prison for having sex with a 13-year-old boy and taking pictures of him engaging in sexual acts with an 8-year-old girl, Acting Attorney General John J. Hoffman announced on Friday.

A co-defendant in the case and the woman's boyfriend is awaiting trial on pending charges.

Rachel L. Baker, 23, was sentenced to 10 years in state prison, including 8 ½ years of parole ineligibility. She pleaded guilty on Sept. 11, 2012 to first-degree aggravated sexual assault, admitting that she engaged in sexual acts with the 13-year-old boy on three occasions.

She also pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated sexual assault and counts of conspiracy and child endangerment, both in the second degree, for directing an 8-year-old girl to perform oral sex on the boy and taking pictures of it with the camera on her cell phone.

She sent those photos to Gary T. Cramer, 29, of Bridgeton, a co-defendant in this case. Baker said Cramer directed her to take the pictures. He was indicted on June 28, 2011, alongside Baker and is facing pending first- and second-degree charges.

“This woman’s conduct in sexually exploiting young children was completely depraved and callous,” Hoffman said. “We’re making it a top priority to uncover these sexual predators and put them behind bars, where they can’t harm vulnerable children.”

Cramer is charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree conspiracy, three counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child (including one count of distribution of child pornography), two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and one count of fourth-degree endangering the welfare of a child (possession of child pornography).  He is charged with five additional counts of endangering the welfare of a child, including possession and distribution of child pornography, in connection with another alleged pornographic photo of the 8-year-old girl.

His trial is scheduled for May.

“The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has reported an alarming growth in online activity involving the sexual abuse and exploitation of children,” Division of Criminal Justice Director Elie Honig said. “We will continue to use cutting-edge technology to apprehend sexual predators who share evidence of their crimes through the Internet and cellular telephones.”

The charges are the result of an investigation by the New Jersey State Police and the Division of Criminal Justice. The investigation resulted in charges against Stephanie Bennett, 27, of Woodbine in Cape May County. She was indicted on June 27, 2011 on charges that she made a video using a cell phone of herself performing oral sex on an infant boy.

She pleaded guilty to a fourth-degree charge of child abuse and neglect and was sentenced on Dec. 6, 2013 to time served.  She served approximately two years in jail prior to sentencing.
