Camden Man Found in Massachusetts Charged With Murder

Jonathan Cruz, 23, was charged with shooting and killing Ernesto Torres in Camden in April.

A man captured in Massachusetts on Monday has been extradited to New Jersey and will be charged in connection with the murder of a Camden man in April.

Jonathan Cruz, 23, of Camden, is charged with murder in the shooting death of 24-year-old Ernesto Torres, Camden County Prosecutor Warren Faulk and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson announced on Wednesday.

Cruz allegedly confronted Torres on April 3 as the result of an ongoing dispute between the two. Torres was shot on the 2700 block of Lincoln Avenue in Camden, and died on the scene. Cruz allegedly shot him multiple times.

Members of the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Fugitive Task Force tracked Cruz to Lawrence, Mass., where he had been staying with a relative. A warrant for his arrest had been issued on May 24, and he was apprehended on Monday.

I ve had numerous disputes , arguments even some altercations in my life but never could I or any of the kids I grew up with ever let it push us to take someone else's life. I just don't get it.
