Chews Landing Road to Close Starting Monday

Chews Landing-Clementon Road will be closed between Somerdale Road and Old Blackhorse Pike to Lower Landing Road due to final milling and paving for in-line sewer project.

Chews Landing-Clementon Road will be closed between Somerdale Road and Old Blackhorse Pike to Lower Landing Road beginning Monday at 7 a.m. due to final milling and paving for in-line sewer project.

The road will be closed to facilitate the restoration and paving of Chews Landing Road between Somerdale and Lower Landing Road, Gloucester Township Police announced this week.

Drivers should expect delays and travel cautiously. Drivers should observe the road closure and directions by the traffic control officers and use the designated detour routes if possible.

The road will reopen at night. No vehicles will be allowed through the intersection of Chews Landing Road and Somerdale Road.

The anticipated time for the lane closures and restrictions is approximately three days. Schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather, security alerts and other circumstances beyond the Contractor’s control.

Businesses located on Chews Landing Road between Somerdale Road and the Black Horse Pike can be accessed from the theh Black Horse Pike. The Camden County dog park can be accessed from the Little Gloucester Road closure point.

Access to emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

The detour route for eastbound traffic is Black Horse Pike south to Coles Road to Hider Lane to Chews Landing Road.

Westbound traffic will be detoured Chews Landing Road to Hider Lane to Coles Road to Black Horse Pike North.

Loring Flemming and Glen Landing Schools can be accessed from Little Gloucester Road at Coles Road.

Northbound Old Black Horse Pike traffic will be detoured to the Black Horse Pike to East Evesham Road.

The project is being handled by the Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority.
