Drug Deal Gone Bad Leads to Fight in Target Parking Lot, Police Say

Melee among Gloucester Township teens likely upsets Christmas shoppers.

A group of teens, including several juveniles, were arrested Monday after what police said was a drug deal gone bad that deteriorated into a brawl in the Target department store parking lot on Cross Keys Road.

The fight was reported at 9:31 p.m. Authorities said Demetrius Pearson and Solomon Potter, both 18 from the Sicklerville section of the township, planned to rob 19-year-old Trevor Tierno, also of Sicklerville.

Police said the plan was for Tierno to sell the men marijuana at the Wye Oak Park on Annapolis Drive. During the robbery, one of the juveniles allegedly got out of a vehicle, pointed an imitation gun at Tierno and demanded the weed. He refused. The juvenile started beating Tierno until he dropped the marijuana, police said.

The attackers then fled. Later, they ran into Tierno and some of his friends in the Target parking lot, where the fight broke out.

Tierno, of the first block of Snowberry Court, was charged with possession and drug distribution charges. Pearson, of the first block of Dickenson Drive and Potter, of the first block of Hampshire Road, were both charged with robbery, conspiracy and drug possession.

Two 17-year-old boys from Gloucester Township were charged with robbery, conspiracy, possession of an imitation firearm and drug possession.
