Erial Man Arrested for Firing Shotgun

A 45-year-old Erial man was jailed Saturday after being arrested for shooting a shotgun.

Matthew Interlante, of Unit Block Cambridge Ave., told police he was trying to scare off stray animals in his back yard when he unloaded three shotgun blasts shortly before 6 a.m. Saturday.

He was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, harassment, disorderly conduct and discharging a firearm within Gloucester Township.

He was at the Camden County jail on a $10,000 bail.
