Erial-New Brooklyn Road Closure Continues

A stretch of the road closes Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for an ongoing sewer project.

Gloucester Township Police Department issued the following press release regarding the latest closure along Erial-New Brooklyn Road related to an ongoing Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority project:

Continuing Monday, Dec. 3, Erial-New Brooklyn Road will again be closed so that improvements and repairs can be made to an existing CCMUA sewer line. This closure will be between Hickstown Road and College Drive. Erial-New Brooklyn Road will be impassable between the closure points during this time. Access will be limited to residents, school buses and businesses located in that area. The township's Public Works facility may be accessed from the College Drive closure.

The marked detour route for northbound Erial-New Brooklyn Road is Hickstown Road to Peter Cheeseman Road to College Drive to Erial-New Brooklyn Road.

The route for southbound Erial-New Brooklyn Road is Peter Cheeseman Road to Hickstown Road to Erial-New Brooklyn Road.  

It will be closed Monday 7:30 a.m. to Friday 5 p.m. each week through Dec. 24.

Please plan accordingly for expected delays and seek an alternate route of travel. 

This closure is part of a long-term construction project that will impact traffic throughout certain areas of Gloucester Township for the next several months.

The Gloucester Township Police Department's Traffic Safety Bureau will send out weekly traffic alerts to keep residents and motorists informed of changes and upcoming road closures.
