Extra DWI Patrols Pay Off
The "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign wielded 15 DWI arrests, including three on New Year's Day, police said.
Gloucester Township Police charged 15 motorists with driving while intoxicated during the 2011 holiday season.
Three of those arrests came on New Year's Day, according to police.
The Gloucester Township Police Department participated in the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" 2011 holiday season DWI enforcement campaign, which ran Dec. 5, 2011, through Jan. 2, 2012.

The Police Department received a $5,000 grant from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety to enhance its regular DWI enforcement efforts.
The grant money supported high-visibility patrols specifically targeting drunken drivers.

In 2010, Gloucester Township Police arrested a total of 176 motorists on DWI charges.
