Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a one-alarm fire at Millbridge Gardens Apartments Monday evening, police said.
No one was injured in the blaze, which occurred in the 200-unit block of the apartment complex, Deputy Police Chief David Harkins said.
The fire was reported shortly before 6:30 p.m., and the bulk of it had been brought under control by about 6:45 p.m., according to reports. It broke out in a second-floor apartment.
The fire's cause remained under investigation as of about 10 p.m., Harkins said.
Firefighters from Chews Landing Fire Department and Blackwood Fire Co. were among those to respond to battle the fire.
Monday's was at least the third serious fire at Millbridge Gardens in the last nine months. A Dec. 11 fire displaced residents in three units, while a Feb. 21 fire displaced residents in four units.
It is not believed Monday's fire was a significant as either of those two blazes.
