First Dog Walker Watch Event in Gloucester Township on Saturday

The event is Saturday at Timber Creek Dog Park.

The Gloucester Township Police Department hosts its first Dog Walker Event this weekend.

The event takes place Saturday, June 28, from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Timber Creek Dog Park on Chews Landing Road, police said Thursday morning.

Dog Walker Watch (DWW) is a crime awareness program sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) that encourages dog walkers to serve as extra eyes and ears for local law enforcement as opposed to texting, chatting, emailing, and making phone calls during their neighborhood walks.

Dog Walker Watch trains these individuals on how to effectively observe and report criminal activity.

Dogs from the Camden County Animal Shelter and other local dog rescues will be on hand for adoption.

Local dog trainers will also be present to answer questions about residents' dogs.

Mcgruff the Crime Dog ,Pet Valu,Petsmart and Target will also be on location supporting the event.

If you are interested in attending or have questions please email Community Relations Officer Jenn McLaughlin at jmclaughlin@gtpolice.com or call 374-5712
