Four Charged in Connection with Combo Drug Deal, Armed Robbery

Gloucester Township Police continue to search for a fifth suspect.

Four men face a variety of charges in what police are calling a drug deal that morphed into an armed robbery.

On July 1 at around 11 p.m., responded to an armed robbery report. The caller said he was robbed at gunpoint and was in his car, following the suspect’s car.

Officers found both cars at Heatherwood Drive and Hickstown Road, where police took into custody the suspect vehicle’s driver, Nathaniel W. Robinson, 26, of the 1100 block of Little Gloucester Road in Blackwood.

An investigation into the incident uncovered that other men charged met Robinson and an unknown male in the Terrestria neighborhood to buy drugs, police said. The suspected dealers, according to reports, then robbed the buyers at gunpoint.

Robinson was charged with robbery in the second degree and remanded to Camden County Correctional Facility on $100,000 bail.

Also charged were the suspected buyers: James P. Taormina, 29, of the 2200 block of Laurie Court in Atco; Gerald Miller, 33, of the 200 block of Boyer Avenue in West Berlin; and Robert L. Vanarsdale III, 24, of Bedford, VA.

The three were charged with making false reports to police and loitering to purchase drugs, and released with summonses.

Police continue to search for the unidentified male they said was with Robinson.
