Four Teens Injured in Crash

Police say the teens sustained minor injuries.

A vehicle carrying four township teens struck a curb on the 600 block of Almonesson Road Friday morning and then crashed into a utility pole.

Firefighters, police and EMS units were able to extricate the four teens from the vehicle using the "Jaws of Life," according to Gloucester Township Police.

All four teens, who range in age from 15 to 17 years old and attend Gloucester Catholic High School, were taken to Cooper University Hospital, in Camden, for evaluation of "minor" injuries, police said.

The accident occurred at about 7:23 a.m. The impact caused the utility pole to snap, police said.

Firefighters from Chews Landing and Blenheim fire departments and EMS units from Gloucester Township, Pine Hill, and Deptford responded to the crash scene, which was nearby Black Horse Pike.

Almonesson Road was closed from Route 41 to Lower Landing Road as police conducted an on-scene investigation.

The accident remains under investigation by the Gloucester Township Police Traffic Safety Unit, including investigation into whether there was a violation of the probationary license passenger-limit restriction.
