Someone in need will get a new pair of socks for spring.

The Gloucester Township Police Department is asking residents to ring in the spring in a unique way on March 20.

Police are asking residents to join the Community Relations Unit, Bicycle Officers, DARE Officers and others to ride the bicycle path through Blackwood to Gloucester Township School.

The trip begins on the Gloucester Township Bicycle Path in Blackwood on West Church Street at Railroad Avenue by the Caboose at 4:45 p.m.

The police department is asking residents to bring new, unused socks, which will be donated to those in need. The DARE vehicle will be the drop off spot and starting point for the bicycle ride. It’s where residents can meet police officers.

Residents are encouraged to bring their bicycles and safety helmets.  Proper footwear for a riding a bicycle is recommended.  The event is free.
