Gloucester Township Deputy Police Chief Receives Award From Highland High School

David J. Harkins was the recipient of the Virginia C. Forneron Outstanding Alumni Award Tuesday night.

Gloucester Township Deputy Police Chief David J. Harkins was the recipient of the Virginia C. Forneron Outstanding Alumni Award at Highland Regional High School’s 41st annual Academic Awards Banquet on Tuesday at Paris Caterers.

Harkins graduated from Highland in 1989. He was honored alongside this year's graduating students who were receiving awards and scholarships. 

Gloucester Township Police Chief Harry Earle nominated Harkins for the award, which was presented by Mayor David Mayer.

Harkins is the fourth Gloucester Township Police Officer to receive this prestigious Highland Regional High School Alumni Award.

The previous three are Earle, Retired Gloucester Township Police Chief Edward S. Smith and Retired Gloucester Township Police Sgt. Dominic Coppola.
