Gloucester Township Introduces Family Resource Center

Police hope to curb domestic violence before it escalates.

First reported at 3:55 p.m. Thursday:

The Gloucester Township police opened a Family Resource Center Thursday aimed at diffusing domestic issues before they lead to crime.

Mayor David Mayer thinks the center will help address conflicts before they intensify.

GT VISION (Gloucester Township Violence In Society Initiative Operational Network) harnesses the power of an entire community in addressing and preventing crime, according to officials. GT VISION is a police and community umbrella program which offers both proactive policing and long term reduction measures in combating drug use and family issues and its effects on crime. The center, at 1324 Little Gloucester Road, will be staffed with a licensed social worker.
