Gloucester Township Police: Clear Snow From Fire Hydrants

They also ask parents to keep children away from snow near curbs and streets.

With two storms in the past few days, fire hydrants in Gloucester Township are becoming more difficult to find.

Gloucester Township Police are asking residents to clear snow off local fire hydrants to make them easier for firefighters to find in cases of emergency.

Police also warned about the danger of snow piles near the curb and close to the street. Children can fall into snow piles near the curb and get seriously injured, and snow piles near the street are dangerous due to oncoming traffic.

Police urge parents not to allow children to create tunnels in huge mountains of snow because they can collapse and the child can become trapped inside.
