Gloucester Township Police Honor National Police Week With Awards Ceremony May 1

Officers will also visit local schools from May 19-22 to teach students about what they do and how they do their job.

The Gloucester Township Police Department will honor National Police Week with its fifth annual Awards Night May 1 at the Dennis Flyer Memorial Theatre at Camden County College, 7:30 p.m.

Awards will be given to honor police officers and citizens that have made extraordinary contributions to the safety and well being of the Gloucester Township community. This event is open to the public at no charge.

Additionally, students from all of the Gloucester Township Public Schools will be recognized for their outstanding efforts in a Police Week essay and poster contest titled "Police and Community Pride in Gloucester Township."

Gloucester Township Police Officers will also visit local schools between May 19 and May 22. They will share with students what their job duties and responsibilities are, and show some of the equipment they use to keep the community safe.

National Police Week is May 11-17.
