Woman, Grandson Struck by Car on Blackwood-Clementon Road

Both were rushed to the hospital after the accident, Gloucester Township police said.

A 44-year-old grandmother and her 3-year-old grandson were sent to the hospital by ambulance Saturday after being struck by a car on Blackwood-Clementon Road.

Police found Tanya Littles, of the 100 block of Lacascata, Gloucester Township, and her grandson laying in the street when they arrived at the scene near Kelly Drivers Lane at 7:11 p.m. Both were rushed to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where they were reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities say they were both struck by a car driven by Deborah Blatt, 60 of the 100 block of Sylvan Court, Gloucester Township. Blatt stopped and reported the accident, police said. She was making a turn on to Blackwood-Clementon Road when the accident occurred, a police report said.

Littles and her grandson had just finished shopping at the Shop-Rite market and were crossing the street to return home.

The roadway was closed for three hours after the accident and no charges against Blatt were immediately reported.
