Police don't want you to become a part of their 2011 statistics this holiday season. If you do go to a bar or a party where you will drink alcoholic beverages, police suggest you plan ahead with a designated driver, use mass transit, or call a friend or a taxi for a ride home.

If you're on the road and you encounter a suspected drunken driver, police advise you to stay as far as possible from the other vehicle. Without compromising your own safety, try to get the vehicle's license plate number, then call 911 to report its make, model, color, exact location and direction of travel.
