GTPD Charges Blackwood Man as Glendora Car Burglar

Police arrest Eric Gilch on a traffic warrant early Monday and later charge him with breaking into two cars in Glendora.

Police say a Blackwood man arrested on a warrant early Monday on the Black Horse Pike was later charged with two Glendora car burglaries after he was found in possession of stolen property.

Gloucester Township Police officers stopped Eric Gilch, 24, of East Church Street, as he walked along the Black Horse Pike at about 12:45 a.m. Monday. Gilch was arrested after he was found to have an active traffic warrant, and was subsequently found to be in possession of a large amount of coins, a GPS unit and a pair of women's designer sunglasses, police said.

Police found Gilch's explanation as to why he was in possession of this property to be suspicious, and the items and coins were recovered pending further investigation.

Several hours after police took Gilch into custody on the warrant, residents on Chestnut Street, in Glendora, reported their vehicles had been entered during the overnight hours. The victims' descriptions of the property taken from their cars matched the items found in Gilch's possession at the time of his arrest, police said.

Gilch was charged with two counts each of burglary and theft. He was remanded to Camden County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
