A Clementon man reportedly has confessed to stealing about $70 worth of hair-care products from the Blackwood Clementon Road Rite Aid, and authorities are crediting a tip from a social media follower with his arrest.
On Tuesday, Gloucester Township Police posted photos of a male suspect and female suspect from a Sept. 13 shoplifting incident at the drugstore to a number of social media sites, including Facebook, Google+ and Twitter.
A short time later, police received an anonymous tip and were able to identify the male suspect as Robert Greenland, 27, of Spring Lake Drive, in Clementon.
Greenland allegedly stole a bottle of hair-coloring formula from the drugstore following an argument with a store clerk. Greenland and the female suspect were seeking refunds for previously stolen items, police said.
Greenland was charged with receiving stolen property, and was released pending a court appearance.
It was determined the female suspect, who has been identified, was not involved in the crime, according to police Det. Sgt. James Schriver.
