GTPD to Host Awards Ceremony

The third annual ceremony will be held Wednesday, May 2.

The third annual Gloucester Township Police Department Awards Night will be held on Wednesday, May 2, at the Dennis Flyer Memorial Theatre at Camden County College.

The event, which is open to the public, is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.  

Awards will be given to police officers and citizens who have made extraordinary contributions to the safety and well-being of the Gloucester Township community.

Gloucester Township Public Schools students will also be recognized for their outstanding efforts in a Police Week essay and poster contest entitled "Police and Community Pride in Gloucester Township."

The Police Department will join thousands of law-enforcement agencies across the country in celebrating National Police Week, which runs May 13 through May 19 this year.

In addition to the awards ceremony, police officers will be visiting schools throughout the township in May to share with students information about their job duties and responsibilities and to display some of the equipment they use to safeguard the community.
