Guilty Plea in Hit and Run Death of Elderly Blackwood Woman

Joyce Putmon, 67, of Gloucester Township was rundown while crossing the Black Horse Pike in Haddon Township in March.

A 51-year-old Mount Ephraim man plead guilty Wednesday to fatally striking an elderly Blackwood, Gloucester Township woman in March with his pickup truck and fleeing the scene.

Timothy Polijczuk is expected to be sentenced in January to six years in state prison, according to the Prosecutor's Office. 

Polijczuk was driving on a suspended license in a blue Chevrolet truck with a refrigeration box mounted on its bed when he struck 67-year-old Joyce Putmon as she crossed the Black Horse Pike in Haddon Township on March 3. He admitted before Superior Court Judge Lee Solomon Wednesday that he fled the scene.

The victim was going from the Audubon Shopping Center to the bus stop when she was struck.
