Camden County Prosecutor's Office Detective Janene Bahr and Gloucester Township Police Detectives Scott Obermeier and Brian Farrell were recognized for their work on a pair of 2013 homicides in Gloucester Township.

Representatives from the Gloucester Township Police Department and the Camden County Prosecutor's Office were honored for their work on two homicides that led to arrests last year.

On Friday, Patch highlighted 56 towns in the state that saw multiple homicides last year. Gloucester Township was among towns on that list, with two homicides.

On Wednesday night, Camden County Prosecutor's Office Detective Janene Bahr and Gloucester Township Police Detectives Scott Obermeier and Brian Farrell were recognized with plaques from the South Jersey Chapter of ASIS International, an organization for security professionals.

They were recognized at the 10th Annual Law Enforcement Recognition Banquet at the Valleybrook Country Club in Blackwood. The event highlights the efforts of law enforcement professionals throughout southern New Jersey.

Bahr and Obermeier's work on the September 2013 murder of Kathleen Korbel led to the arrest of Timothy Donnelly.

Korbell was a 4-year-old Washington Township woman who was found shot multiple times at a home where she was house sitting. Donnelly is the son of the woman whose home Korbel was house sitting.

Their investigation allowed Donnelly to be accused of killing Korbel during a burglary he attempted while his mother was on vacation.

Bahr and Farrell's work on the October 2013 fatal shooting of Lamar Ortiz led to the arrest of Joshua Texiador and two juveniles. The three allegedly killed Ortiz during a failed attempt to rob him during a drug deal.
