Lilley School Students Evacuated for Bomb Threat

A bomb threat is found in one of the Sicklerville school's bathrooms Tuesday afternoon.

UPDATE, 4:08 p.m. 10/23: Gloucester Township Police say a Camden County Sheriff's Department K-9 Unit building search at James W. Lilley Elementary School was negative for explosives.

A note found in the school threatened to "Blow up the school," police said.

Police were summoned to Lilley School at 1:14 p.m.

Lilley students and staff members were held out of the school for roughly an hour before being permitted to return to their classes.

The Gloucester Township Police Department Juvenile Investigations Unit is continuing the investigation into the bomb threat.

In addition to the Camden County Sheriff's Department K-9 unit, local police were aided at the scene by personnel from Lambs Terrace Fire Co.

Students and staff were evacuated from James W. Lilley Elementary School this afternoon after a bomb threat was found in one of the school's bathrooms.

Gloucester Township Police were summoned to the Sicklerville school around 1:30 p.m. after the threat was discovered.

As students and staff exited the building, a police K-9 unit was dispatched to search the school for explosives.
