Man Charged with DWI in Glendora Crash Indicted Days Later for Vehicular Homicide

A Berlin man arrested here Nov. 30 on a DWI charge allegedly killed 41-year-old Deptford resident Tricia Broomall in an August 2010 car crash.

The Berlin man who allegedly crashed a large pickup truck into a utility pole on Evesham Road, in Glendora, while driving under the influence Thanksgiving weekend was indicted just three days after that crash on a vehicular-homicide charge in connection with an August 2010 DWI case.

Robert Zaremba, 38, of Tansboro Road, was indicted Nov. 30 on the vehicular- homicide charge in connection with a car crash in Winslow Township that killed Tricia Broomall, 41, of Deptford, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

The fatal crash occurred Aug. 31, 2010, at Route 73 and Myers Avenue, in Winslow.

Authorities say Zaremba, driving a Ford Explorer, drove through a red light on Route 73 and slammed into Broomall’s minivan as it crossed the intersection. Tests on Zaremba’s blood revealed the presence of methamphetamines, amphetamines and Alprazolam, according to the prosecutor's office.

Having a vehicular-homicide charge hanging over his head did not prevent Zaremba from deciding on Nov. 27 to get behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to Gloucester Township Police.

A witness reported seeing what police described as a large, white, stake-body pickup truck, which was pulling a trailer, traveling from Deptford Township swerve and then strike a utility pole on the 900 block of West Evesham Road at approximately 6:45 p.m.

Arriving police units found the pickup and part of the utility pole, which split in two upon the truck's impact with it, in the middle of the road.

Police shut down Evesham Road between Station and Melvin avenues for approximately three hours as debris from the crash was cleared. Area residences lost power as a result of the crash.
